The PLC can be controlled by means of an electrical panel where the operator introduces the data concerning the values that need to be obtained at the end of the process. The electrical panel also indicates the malfunctioning of any piece of equipment. In other words, the PLC is in fact the "brain" that sets the equipment into motion, ensuring the adequate operation of the treatment process and equipment.
For larger plants, a computer with the SCADA software installed is used, in order to visualize all the functioning parameters of the plant. By utilizing the SCADA software, efortless operation of the plant is ensured. The operator screen displays all the process parameters, and the status of each piece of equipment. Also, an operating log is maintained. The data can also be displayed on several screens at the same time, and also remote operation of the plant can be performed. |
